Family Resources
a Minnesota licensed non-profit adoption agency

Requirements for Home Study
All adoptive applicants are required to complete a home
study. Home studies are designed to review your living conditions,
financial situation, health status, back ground and reference history, and
general information about parenting. Home study requirements vary from state to
state and agency to agency.
It
is necessary that the home study be completed in your state of residence.
If you need assistance in finding a licensed home study agency in your
state of residence, please email us at familyresources@msn.com
and we will assist you in locating agencies in your state and your area.
Also, most state’s Dept. of Human Services keep a listing of their
state’s licensed agencies and will send them to you free of charge.
If
you live in
Minnesota, we would be happy to assist you by
completing a home study for your family. Please
email us at familyresources@msn.com
for an application. We
will email or send you a copy of our home study application.
Family
Resources charges a flat rate of
$2,600.00 for our international home study. Post
placement fees are dependent on post placements required by the International
country.
Once
you have completed and signed the application, we will immediately assign you to
a case worker to begin your study. Most
home studies are completed within 8 weeks, but this is subject to families time
frames, ability to provide necessary documents, and the number of background
checks your situation requires. We
will require that you visit with your caseworker in our office for at least 2
visits, and she will do a home visit to your house on at least one occasion.
